Auckland War Memorial is developing a permanent exhibition called Future Tamaki. The intention of this exhibition is to allow visitors to explore and interact with key datasets from the Auckland region, to help them understand where things are currently at, what some of the key trends and changes are, what implications these might have for the future of Tamaki Makarau, and what actions people can take to influence these futures. A key outcome will be to inspire a sense of agency amongst visitors. The datasets might be around energy, the economy, transport, social or health data, climate, the natural environment, etc., and key key principles are that the exhibition should be interactive, provocative, future-focused, and research-driven.

The intention of the workshop was to help researchers from UoA and staff from AWMM talk through and explore existing and planned research projects, determine their suitability for an interactive digital exhibition of this nature, and prioritise a selection of key projects to begin developing for the first year of the exhibition.
